Peptide payment processing — RUO vendors and compounding pharmacies.
Peptide sellers live inside one of the tightest regulatory surfaces in e-commerce. Card networks explicitly monitor MCC 5122 and 5912 for research-compound vendors under Visa's Legitimate Business Practices program. Standard acquirers filter these MCCs out entirely. VenderaPay places two distinct sub-verticals: research-use-only (RUO) peptide vendors selling to a research and biohacker audience, and licensed compounding pharmacies dispensing prescribed peptides. Different underwriting tracks, different rates, both placeable.
Two distinct sub-verticals
- MCC 5122 or 5199
- Research-use-only labelling on every SKU
- Rate: 5%–7% + interchange
- Reserve: 5%–10% for 90 days
- Age gate (18+ minimum) required
- MCC 5912
- 503A or 503B registration (US) required
- Rate: 2.5%–3.5% + interchange
- Reserve: none or minimal
- Prescriber network documentation
The RUO compliance surface
RUO peptide vendors succeed or fail on whether their marketing surface matches the RUO framing. Underwriting reviews:
- Product page copy — no dosing suggestions, no protocols, no human-use language
- Product imagery — no before/after photos, no injection imagery
- Testimonials — no bodybuilding or biohacker testimonials describing human use
- Email autoresponders — same standard as the site itself
- Affiliate/creator content that links back — held to the same standard
- Product labels — prominent "For Research Use Only. Not for Human Consumption." on every SKU
- Age-verification gate on the site (18+ minimum; some acquirers 21+)
One violation on any surface can void the underwriting even if the product page is clean. Merchants that treat this as bureaucratic rather than substantive get terminated within their first few months.
